Program Ideas for Educators

"Education is the most powerful weapon which   you can use to change the world". Nelson Mandela
Bridge Builders

I got this Idea from the Lego builders Program that aired. Create a base with two posts about 12-14 inches high and 18-24 inches apart, kids then build a bridge and see if it can hold three cans of soda.  I like the idea of grading the bridge on its design, A "T" for zero cans, as well as a C for one can, B for 2, and an A for three.   The T means "try again"     Building Bridges is important.

Star Peace

I have a couple of Star Wars Ships, my idea here is for the kids to imagine what happens when the Stars ARE NOT AT WAR, either build a ship of their own, or for the more ambitious, replace the guns with ... Scientific Experiments, Passenger Pods, (wouldn't tourism be a thing?) Cargo holds, etc...

My Opinion of Star Wars - They are always at war, fighting for control, perpetual suffering, will they ever know the value of peace?

Race Cars

This is kind of obvious but also an important engineering project, build something with wheels, run it down the test track, speed, accuracy design elements (what powers it in the Lego World ? )  The builders need to know.  Just ask the Any Motor Co., FIA or NASCAR

Adult Project (s)

Adult programs - I am not sure where I would take this, re-create local buildings?  Collect and Redistribute Lego Donations?

Building Façade
Ok, this will take a bit of an explanation, the idea here is to build a building that is "prepped" to have its outer shell created.  The Façade.  I got the idea out the unofficial design and help book below.

Anyway the idea is to build a few of these and then let the kids design the finishing steps...
